A canteen set up by the combined churches in the Holy Trinity Hall in Haddington, providing a place where the troops based in the vicinity could go for a much welcomed cup of tea, something to eat, as well as a chat. The canteen provided a place where servicemen could relax and socialise, and perhaps pick up a date for the evening. There was also a canteen in the High Street, organised by the W.R.I.
